| The use of
up-to-date technology is well to the fore of the company. We have a CAD/CAM system with full 3D
modelling capabilities using Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 5.0. With this we can produce
computer models and perform finite element analysis.
We employ up-to-date
CNC equipment in our Toolroom which is linked through a local area network (LAN) to the
CAD/CAM system.
Our integrated
Business Management System incorporates electronic data interchange (EDI).
Our Inspection
Department uses an International Metrology System (IMS) Impact Coordinate
Measuring Machine utilising Virtual DMIS software. In addition to automatic programmable
measuring capabilities, this software can produce programs in offline mode
using computer models translated from IGES, DXF and STEP files. Reverse engineering is
also possible by measuring an existing component and translating the data into an IGES,
DXF or STEP file for use in the CAD system.
Our 600 tonne transfer press has a 3-axis CNC
controlled transfer mechanism, permitting great flexibility in die design, enabling
productivity gains over a mechanical system. The transfer control is interfaced to both
the press control and the material feeder resulting in an integrated system allowing fully
automated operation.
Our welding robots are the latest
6-axis models enabling complex high-speed Mig welding.
Modern servo controlled feed lines
are also used for close control coil feeding.
PLC controlled die protection units
and tonnage monitors are used to ensure that tooling is not damaged and performs safely. |
